8 Ways To Earn An Income From Your Blog

8 Ways To Make Money Blogging

Freelancing

Freelancing is a great way to earn an income as a blogger. If you have some particular skills that could be helpful to the world, then why not create a special page on your blog and offer your services to your visitors?
A lot of bloggers are making thousands of dollars each month thanks to freelancing, so why not you?

Write E-books

Got some writing skills? Then write an ebook related to your niche and promote it to your readers! E-books have become more and more populars over the years thanks to Kindle and reading apps.
Everybody is buying e-books, and even if some book lovers still can’t get over the feeling of not having a real paper book between their hands, if your ebook is good, you can make quite a consequent amount of money from it.

Affiliate Marketing

Now my favorite one. Affiliate marketing is my favorite way of making money with my blog, which is something that you already know if you’ve been following my blog for a while.
For those of you who might not know what affiliate marketing is, it’s basically earning commissions on products that you promote to your readers. Anytime someone clicks on one of your affiliate links and purchases the product that you’re promoting, you earn a commission on it. Pretty cool huh?
If you wanna learn how to really earn some bucks from affiliate marketing, I suggest that you head over to this guide on how to use affiliate marketing to make money blogging, and check out this list of the best affiliate programs for bloggers.

Ads

You’ve probably heard of this one already, it’s probably the most known way of making money through your blog.
Ads are used by basically every pro bloggers, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re just starting out, because it requires a lot of traffic to make more than a few cents per month. I’d say using ads on your blog if you have under 500 views per day is kind of useless. But if your traffic is pretty good, then using ads can be a good way to make money.

Selling Your Own Product

If you’re a creative person, then one thing that you could do to earn money is creating your own product and sell it on your blog. It could be a physical or digital product, depending on what you like and what you’re good at.
What’s great with digital a digital product is that it literally costs you nothing but your time, and anyone in the world can have access to it. A physical product on the other hand requires you to buy what you need to create it, and pay the shipping fees which could make you want to limit your sales to your own country to avoid expensive custom fees.
Both are to consider, some people like to have a physical thing in their hands, others don’t mind paying for a PDF file. It’s entirely up to you!

Sponsored Posts

After you’ve been blogging for a while and stuck with your blogging strategy (yes, you do need to create one), chances are that your blog is going to grow and at some point you’re going to have brands contacting you for you to write sponsored posts for them.
It’s up to you to decide your tariff and whether or not you want to work with this brand. But for the love of Emma, please do not accept something that has nothing to do with your blog’s niche or your readers interest just because a brand offers you money to do so. You’re better than that.

Create a Paid Membership – Restricted Member Only Content

This is something that not a lot of bloggers think about when they want to monetize their blog. You could create a paid membership for your loyal readers where you would offer them exclusive and highly valuable content each month.
It could be a good way to grow your income, but first of all, keep in mind that this means that you would have to work twice as much as you did before to create exclusive content for your members because it is kind of like having a second blog to deal with.
Another thing that you have to know is that unless you’re really good at this, most of your subscribers are not going to stay subscribed to your blog forever (not more than 3 months on average). Meaning: you’re going to have to constantly promote your paid membership like crazy to make sure that the number of people who subscribe is higher than the number of people who unsubscribe.
No matter what you choose to include in this paid membership, make sure that what you’re giving to your subscribers is worth their money, otherwise it’s your credibility that is at risk.

Accept Donation

I’m pretty sure you have never thought of that one, but you could actually ask your readers to give you some money to support your blog if they’d like.
It’s probably not going to be your biggest source of income, but if you have an awesome blog (and I’m sure you do!) and loyal readers, then you could make some money from donations.

Writing this list actually gave me some pretty good (I think) ideas for the future.
No matter what you choose to do with your blog, and how you choose to monetize it, please keep in mind that the most important thing in blogging is to truly love what you do, and what you sell or promote on your blog. Your integrity is priceless!
