THREE THINGS YOU CAN DO TODAY TO START ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS
1.) Make a list of your goals
I was recently reading the book Key to Living the Law of Attraction: A Simple Guide to Creating the Life of Your Dreams by Jack Canfield (he’s the guy behind all the Chicken Soup for the Soul books and a Law of Attraction guru as well) and came across a fantastic piece of advice. He said that everyone should have a list of 101 Goals that they want to accomplish in their lifetime.
It doesn’t need to be exactly 101, but the point of the exercise is to sit down and write out exactly what you want to accomplish in your life!
Can it really be that simple? YES! It is a starting point for creating the life that you want to live. If you believe in the Law of Attractionyou know that you need to “place your order” with the Universe in order to achieve the life you desire.
In this case, all I am asking you to do is create a list of the goals you want to achieve in your life. It can be an ongoing list that changes and evolves, put just put the pen to the paper and start writing down your goals.
Your goals can be absolutely anything: own a million dollar home, write a novel, start a blog (if you want to do that, might, get married, get a new job, make $5,000 in one week… the list and possibilities are endless.
Don’t get wrapped up in any of the nitty-gritty or how to on achieving it goals, just word-vomit them out on paper. Or in the notes section of your iPhone, like where my list currently lives. I am currently at 37 goals, but I am going to do another brain dump soon to add more things! If you want more information on this exercise, read the book by Jack Canfield!
2.) Read & Research
According to The Four Tendencies Framework by Gretchen Rubin, I am a Questioner. Which means I like to read and research everything I do!
Fortunately, this can be a good thing when it comes to achieving your goals. Have you made (or started) your list from above? Great! Choose one goal and find some books/articles/blog posts on the topic and start filling your brain with knowledge, baby!

The possibilities are absolutely endless!
3.) Meditate on it
We have two minds, our conscious mind and our subconscious mind. While our conscious mind is busy soaking up all the knowledge by reading and researching, we can let information seep into our subconscious mind through meditation.
I love this article on how to use meditation to visualize your goals. The article outlines 10 steps for visualizing your goals, starting with focusing on an area of your life and how you see the outcome of your life in 6-12 months.
I love the idea of visualization and meditation, especially when it comes to goal setting and how your future life looks to you. For more ideas on how to combine meditation into your life (including some great apps!) check out my post on why you should practice meditation.
The bottom line is…
If you want to achieve something, do something! Any step in the direction of the future you want is a step in the right direction. Too many people get so caught up in dreaming and thinking of what they would do or should do that they miss the most important thing: taking ACTION!
